Well, this post i can also write in my "Sports" blog because it is related to someone who is related to sport. But, for me this guy was more than just a "Sportsperson". I think, you must have known till now who i'm talking about, The Man, The Legend..!! SIR "SACHIN TENDULKAR". Well this degree of "Sir" has not yet been given to him, but for me he was, he is & he will always be Sir Sachin Tendulkar. He is been playing for the country for 24 years continuously, some of us were not even born when a 16 year old boy, made his debut in Pakistan, against a formidable side "Pakistan" who had names like Waqar Younis, Imran Khan, Abdul Qadir, those who don't know, "Abdul Qadir" is known to be One of the greatest Leg-Spinners in Cricket, World has ever produced, the guy spinned a ball like a cyclone spins it's course. It was an exhibition match which happened side to side with the official series in 1989, he played Abdul Qadir like he already knew which ball he's gonna ball, a player would doubt to go out of the crease when Qadir bowled as he can spin the ball on his own terms, Tendulkar hit 2 consecutive sixes in the first 2 balls he faced from the leg-spinner & the leg-spinner became a fan of this young man & also when he played his 4th test he was hit on his nose with a bouncer from Imran Khan, but neglected any medical assistance & played on & moved on to make 53 crucial runs for his side. That proved that, this guy had some guts in it, to become a great player.

This incident happened in 1989, 3 years before when i was born. But, still everbody who seen him playing, he has made him a fan of his batting. I still remember, i was just 15 years old when i was picked up for my school cricket team to play in the inter-school tournament, i had a poster of the master blaster in my room which i got signed from him & i still have that poster hanging in a frame, its been 10 years now. I looked onto the poster & thought that, now i have to play like this man, well it was a silly thought, but yes, everybody wants to play like him. Next day, i went on to the field, as i was an opening batsman for my side, the first ball i faced was a bouncer which got on my shoulder & i went down as it hit me with a great force. I just thought, what happened with the young man who took a ball on his nose & was bleeding vigourously & still continued to play & i got up & i went on to make 112 runs in that match. So, Sachin's sheer commitment to the game made a million people like me to play with the same passion, well we can never match the passion he had for the game, but we can walk on the same path. I still remember, when that Ball Tempering case happened, when Sachin Tendulkar was accused of doing something with the ball & the matter was so hyped that, it was believed that, he may suffer a life-ban from the game, but was cleared of all charges against him, when all the investigation was done. The country was relieved that their "God Of Cricket" has been cleared from all charges & he was back in his courtyard.

My personal experience is that, whenever Tendulkar came to crease for batting or on field, my face had a mysterious smile on it. I mean, it felt so much of pleasure to just see him on the screen, even if he had just come on screen & he is sitting outside in the dug out, my heart would feel 10 times happier than what is going on the field. These are some of Tendulkar's Innings which are Best for me :
1. 114 vs Australia in 5th Test, Perth (1992)
2. 241 vs Australia in 4th Test, Sydney (2004)
3. 103* vs England in 1st Test, Chennai (2008)
4. 143 vs Australia in Triangular Series, Sharjah (1998)
5. 117* vs Australia in Commonwealth Bank Series - 1st Final, Sydney (2008)

9. 193* vs England in 5th Test Match, Headingley (2002)
10. 116* vs Australia in 2nd Test Match, Melbourne (1999)
These are only some of the best innings that i've ever seen so far. Some of the awards that Tendulkar got were "Padma Vibhushan: in 2008, "Padma Shri" in 1998, "Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award" in 1998, "ICC Player Of The Year" in 2010, "Wisden Cricketer Of The Year" in 1997 & "Wisden Leading Cricketer Of The Year" in 2010, "Order Of Australia" in 2013.
Some of the World's Leading Cricketers said some of the best things about Tendulkar. All were fans of his style hwether on the field or off the field. Some of those comments were:
"I saw him (Sachin) playing on television and was struck by his technique, so I asked my wife to come look at him. Now I never saw myself play, but I feel that this player is playing much the same as I used to play, and she looked at him on television and said yes, there is a similarity between the two...his compactness, technique, stroke production."
"Sir Donald Bradman"
I have seen God, he bats at no. 4 for India"
"Matthew Hayden"
"The only batsman I would love to see by paying for the tickets and sitting in the stand just to watch him is none other than Sachin Tendulkar" and "Sachin is a genius. I'm a mere mortal"

"When you bowl at him you are not just trying to get him out, you are trying to impress him. 'I want him to walk off thinking 'that Flintoff, he's all right isn't he? I feel privileged to have played against him"
"Andrew Flintoff"
"I was fielding in the covers when Tendulkar came out to bat in his debut Test at Karachi. I still remember Waqar Younis was in peak form at that time. Tendulkar tried to drive Waqar through the covers off his very first ball in Test cricket but was beaten all ends up. But I walked to captain Imran Khan and told him 'this kid looks very good' and Imran agreed with me."
"Abdul Qadir"
These words are encouraging for any player. Tendulkar, never thought that he should retire when he is at his peak because he said in an inerview "That If i'm on top of my game, why should i retire? I should play for my country, so i can contribute more.". Sir, You Will Always Be Missed, Cricket is really incomplete without you. You're the Man, The Legend. SIR SACHIN TENDULKAR..!! I wish you all the best for 200th Test & we all will be cheering for you. You are my Icon, You are my GOD..!! :) :')
AN ERA ENDS..!! <3 <3
